Stunning views from bar and lounge.
The lounge area. The situation.
No facilities for children and no disabled facilities. Rather warren like access to rear of hotel.
Location was superb, rooms were clean, relaxing break with a stunning view of Oban harbour.
The relaxed and friendly atmosphere created by both the staff and the hotel setting itself, excellent food, easy access to town and facilities. Would definitely go back!
Limited parking which has to be reserved and if you don't get a space you have to find one which can be a few hundred yards from hotel, not so easy if you have children/elderly companions etc
The hotel was really nice, we really enjoyed our stay. The spa was excellent, we got a really good deal for the easter weekend and are considering going back in the summer.
it was conveniently situated with beautiful views out onto the islands.
We were not aware that there was only reserved parking fee before we went so did not book it and were unable to when we got there so had to park a distance away.
One small bar of soap is not suitable for 2 people to use and no shampoo was given. Also we were not advised to ask for parking when booking our room. This was a huge inconvenience. We paid a great deal of money for 2 rooms and I did not feel it was worth the money.
Able to walk to all city attractions and shopping. Beautiful views of ocean! Had a great dinner and breakfast at the hotel! Wished we could have stayed longer..... Oban was our favorite city during our visit to Scotland.
Shower was a bit small..... But not unusual when traveling outside the us
We enjoyed our stay in the hotel although I was disappointed that the jacuzzi was not working as this was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. It was being fixed the following morning but we were only there for the one night. The breakfast was O.k although the black pudding was rather greasy. The hotel is in a brilliant location and the staff were very helpful.
Good location about 5/10 mins walk from piers and shops etc. Breakfast was very good as was dinner. Awesome views from sun lounge at front of hotel. Free WIFI in all of hotel and not chargeable as indicated on this website. Room was comfortable although decor a bit tired and could do with a spruce up.
I think a little too expensive at £80 B+B for single room. Window in room had very obvious crack but when I reported they seemed unaware..The staff seem stretched especially in restaurant where courses were served in very quick succession. Had to go look for someone to serve me at bar couple of times. I think some work could be done in customer care.
Attractive room with tea and coffee - making facilites, very good restaurant with excellent food. Staff exceptionally helpful, lovely bar area with comfortable seats, and adjacent conservatory area overlooking the bay. Have stayed before, but much impressed by the general standards, the staff, and the general warmth of the hotel. Very much enjoyed our stay, and would be happy to return.
Parking is quite limited in view of its situation, but is available on the street nearby.
It's position and views from the hotel. Ideal when touring Scotland rooms clean and staff friendly
Hotel was well presented although could do with a facelift, reasonable location for access to Oban on foot. Only had breakfast at the hotel but breakfast was good with large variety of items.
Poor facilities for guest parking, poor lighting in the room and bathroom, shower had poor pressure and bit cramped, personally thought it was a bit overpriced for the facilities provided.
Good situation in the town, Hotel clean, staff very friendly, food excellent. Spent a weekend here with my husband and really enjoyed it, would go back.
The only down side is the lack of parking at the hotel itself, but we were aware of this before we arrived, therefore had made other enquries about parking and there is sufficient parking 2 mins away from the hotel.
The view and the hot tub
The plumbing seems to require an overhaul. The shower in our room did not work and the toilet cistern was not very effective. The same seemed to apply to one ofthe public toilets. I would expect at least one fish dish in a Scottish breakfast menu and yes there were several but only at an additional cost.
